Russell Simmons aka Uncle Rush, is set to start his own reality-docu series on the Oxygen Channel. According to Variety, the series, tentatively titled “The Russell Simmons Project,”will focus on the women who make up his team of associates.
In describing the show, cabler noted, “Russell’s assistants not only manage his business deals but also his family life, party planning and love life — a commitment that is 24/7… Their glam jobs bring them face-to-face with everyone from former presidents and international royalty to Hollywood’s elite.”
Oxygen said that Simmons’ colleagues includes “confidantes, fierce gatekeepers, dating coaches, spiritual advisers, philanthropic czars, business liaisons and more.”
“Throughout my career I have surrounded myself with people smarter than me,” Simmons said. “This show will let them shine and provide insight into how we build our empire.”
One person who will not make an appearance on the show is his ex-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons.
I’m definitely going to tune in when this show premieres. It’s definitely a smart idea to watch how Russell run his businesses (especially if you aspire to be an entrepreneur).
Yesterday, Oprah’s first-ever holiday music extravaganza aired! Six musical artists from different musical genres were paired up together to sing holiday songs. This was the first time each pair sung together. The pairs were Alica Keys and Tim McGraw; Andrea Bocelli and Mary J. Blige; Sugarland and Jennifer Hudson. I loved the performances! Last night while most of you were feasting on Thanksgiving turkey, Beyonce’s special “I am…Yours” came on ABC. The hour long special took you behind the scenes of her Las Vegas Tour. You got to see the selection process of her all-female band, she talked about the concept behind some of her songs, how she started her career from childhood and rare video clips of her growing up. Just in case you missed it, you can watch the entire special below.
“The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty” will premiere on December 13th at 9pm EST on the A&E network. The reality series will kick off a six-show run that night with two hour-long episodes. The show will focus on the lives of brothers Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon Jackson as they prepare for a reunion tour that was suppose to include a performance with Michael Jackson (at a concert in Texas next summer). The episodes will also focus on the brothers reactions to Michael’s untimely death in June.
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s two-hour wedding special will be televised on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, this Sunday, November 8th (8pm EST) on the E! Channel. This is an excellent time to be a Janet fan . Janet has been in the press a lot lately as she prepares for the release of her greatest hits album, “Number Ones”on November 17th. According to one of my favorite Janet fan sites Janet-Xone, a television special featuring Janet will air on the ABC Network Wednesday, November 18 at 10 PM EST. The show will be titled “In The Spotlight with Robin Roberts.” Mark your calendars Janet fans because this is going to be a busy month!
