Earlier today Mariah Carey gave a mini concert performance on the ‘Today Show’ in New York City. She was there to promote her latest CD, “Memoirs of an imperfect Angel.” Mariah sang her hit single Obsessed, as well as H.A.T.E.U., I Want to Know What Love Is and her classic hit Make it Happen. Personally, I enjoyed I Want to Know What Love Is and it was great to see her sing one of her classic songs.

Check out Amerie’s new video Heard ‘Em all and read my comments to follow.
Honestly, the song is just OK for me but the video was hot! They say a video can make or break a song and the video is definitely doing its part. However, it seems a little Rihanna-ish to me. There is nothing wrong with an edgier style because I happen to love that look. But the question is does it fit Amerie? Perhaps the song will grow on me but I look forward to her album release in November.
I was on my homie’s blog Ayebeclear.com and I came across Lil Mama’s version of Empire State Of Mind. Yep she “remixed” Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ song! As you can recall Lil Mama jumped on stage towards the end of their performance at the 2009 VMAs. I guess the excitement and joy she felt that night never left her. Anyway check out the video below.
Based on preliminary sales numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint 3″ shifted 476,000 copies in the week that ended at the close of business on Sunday
(Sept. 13) night. That will easily give Jay his 11th No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Jay-Z’s No. 1 achievement with “Blueprint 3″ will push him ahead of Elvis Presley as the solo act with the most No. 1 albums in the more-than 50-year history of the Billboard 200. And Jay-Z will now have the second-most No. 1 albums among all acts. The Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, have more.
Congratulations to Jay-Z and make sure you pick up The Blueprint 3 (It’s definitely worth the money)!
