The beautiful, classy and talented Janet Jackson graces the cover of the newest issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Janet Jackson exclusively sat down with Harper’s Bazaar to discuss how she has been dealing with the passing of Michael Jackson. She also confirmed her split from long-time boyfriend Jermaine Dupri.
Below is a portion of the interview:
On dealing with Michael’s passing: “I’ve been doing okay,” she says. “Work helps focus all of that energy on something that is of value to you.” She’s just back from vacation, a princely three days on a beach. “It was the first time I had to myself since Michael passed, the first time I could get away since all of that.”
On her and Michael’s legacies: “I would hope my legacy would be bringing smiles to faces,” she says. “Happiness with my music. Also, to make babies. I’ve had so many people come up to me and say, ‘My child was conceived by listening to your music.’” She has more difficulty articulating Michael’s. “It’s so beyond. I can’t even begin. It’s on so many different levels. Bringing light and love and happiness. He’s just got so much love, and so much heart, and so much power through his music. Children and his love for children. People have told me, ‘I am an American citizen because of your brother.’ He wrote them a letter or something. He was just that giving, loving person. And the greatest entertainer there ever was. And is. I hope people get a glimpse of him now, some sort of picture.”

MTV icon Janet Jackson will pay special tribute to her brother Michael at the VMAs on Sunday, September 13, 2009. She will open up the show and help honor Michael Jackson’s career. No word on what she will be performing but there is buzz circulating that she is going to have about 20 backup dancers. I guess we’ll have to wait and see! I’m super excited to see Janet this Sunday and you already know she is Cherry Connect’s favorite artist!

The internet has been buzzing about our favorite artist Janet Jackson and her upcoming interview in Harper’s Bazaar. Supposedly, Janet will break her silence regarding the death of her brother Michael Jackson. She will also grace the cover.
Usually when reports like this circulate the internet I always try to check in with my Janet sources but there is no official word whether or not this is true.
However, I can confirm that Janet is working on her first book with popular novelist David Ritz. The book is reportedly entitled, “The True You” which will provide an intimate look at her life and how she has dealt with self-esteem issues. Janet will reveal aspects not known before about her success in music, television and film.

Janet Jackson made a special appearance at the 2009 BET awards to speak about Michael’s passing on behalf of the Jackson family. Spoken with grace and class Janet thanked the fans for their support during her family’s time of grief. She also made it a point to express that Michael is our icon but to the Jacksons he is family. I commend Janet for speaking to the world because it took alot of strength and courage. We at Cherry Connect stand behind you Janet and we’re praying for the Jackson family.
