Lady Gaga covers the latest issue of Billboard magazine. Her single “Born This Way” went straight to #1 on the Hot 100 and is also the 1000th #1 single (on the Hot 100)! Congrats Lady Gaga!
She also made an appearance on Good Morning America earlier today. She was there to talk about her work with the MAC Viva Glam Campaign, which raises money for HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness. She also talked about the Grammys and more. Check out the interview after the break.
Nicki Minaj recently performed her single “Moment 4 Life” on Jay Leno. Congratulations to Nicki for having the #1 album on the Billboard 200 after 11 weeks! I really like Pink Friday, make sure you pick up a copy if you haven’t already. Check out her performance below.
According to Hits Daily Double, Eminem’s album Recovery debuted at #1 this week selling an impressive 754k copies! That is the biggest selling debut this year and the largest total since AC/DC’s Black Ice bowed with 784k back in Oct. 2008. Congratulations to Eminem!
According to the Hits Daily Double, Drake’s album Thank Me Later sold 463K copies in its first week (the third-highest total of the year after Sade and Lady Antebellum). That’s excellent for a debut album! He enters the Billboard 200 at #1. I guess he can thank me now because I bought his album last week . Congrats Drake!
Based on preliminary sales numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint 3″ shifted 476,000 copies in the week that ended at the close of business on Sunday
(Sept. 13) night. That will easily give Jay his 11th No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Jay-Z’s No. 1 achievement with “Blueprint 3″ will push him ahead of Elvis Presley as the solo act with the most No. 1 albums in the more-than 50-year history of the Billboard 200. And Jay-Z will now have the second-most No. 1 albums among all acts. The Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, have more.
Congratulations to Jay-Z and make sure you pick up The Blueprint 3 (It’s definitely worth the money)!
