American Idol News: Ellen DeGeneres Quits, Kara DioGuardi Fired + Jennifer Lopez A New Judge

Wow there are a lot of changes going on with American Idol for next season! After judging for one season, Ellen DeGeneres has decided to leave American Idol. Reportedly, she quit because of her demanding schedule and she was also uncomfortable with hurting contestants feelings (I never thought she was mean). Below is her statement:

“A couple of months ago, I let Fox and the ‘American Idol’ producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me,” she said last night in a statement.

“It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I’d bargained for.”

According to reports, Jennifer Lopez will replace Ellen and the deal is pretty much sealed!

Meanwhile, Kara DioGuardi was fired! According to TMZ, the show will go back to a three-judge format and will consist of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler (assuming all deals are finalized).

With all the recent changes to show (including Simon leaving), I wonder if people will tune in or if this is it for American Idol? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Tamera Mowry Is Engaged

Tamera Mowry recently got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Adam Hously who is a FOX News Correspondent. He popped the question while they were on vacation in Europe. Tamera confirmed the news via twitter, and also shot down rumors that this is her second engagement (it’s actually her first). Congratulations!
