For the past few days the media has covered Tiger Woods’ alleged affair, car accident and marital disputes extensively. Tiger released an apology via his official website today. Below is part of his statement:
I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.
Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.
You can read his entire statement here.
This apology comes after a Los Angeles cocktail waitress told US Magazine that she and Tiger had a 31 month affair. The cocktail waitress, Jaimee Grubbs, told the magazine she met Woods at a Las Vegas nightclub the week after the 2007 Masters (which was 2 months prior to his wife, Elin giving birth to their 1st child). Jaimee Grubbs also claims to have proof in 300 text messages.
Prior to Woods’ statement, the magazine published what it said was a voicemail (provided by Grubbs) that Woods left on her phone on Nov. 24th. This was 3 days before Tiger crashed his SUV in front of his Florida home.

Lady GaGa graces the January 2010 cover of ELLE magazine. In an exclusive interview she opens up about sexuality, stress and her romantic future. Read part of the interview below.
On bodily reactions to stress: “I get all the symptoms of a pregnant woman. I get headaches, I get tired, I get blurred vision sometimes during a really intense session with [her creative team] the Haus.”
On using her sexuality: “My album covers are not sexual at all, which was an issue at my record label. I fought for months, and I cried at meetings. They didn’t think the photos were commercial enough…The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself.”
On her romantic future: “In eight to 10 years, I want to have babies for my Dad to hold, grandkids. And I want to have a husband who loves and supports me, just the way anyone else does. I would never leave my career for a man right now, and I would never follow a man around.”

December 1, 2009 is World AIDS Day. World AIDS Day started on December 1, 1998 and the purpose is to increase awareness, raise money, fight prejudice and improve education. This year’s theme is ‘Universal Access and Human Rights’ [Source]. Below are some statistics I found on Avert.org:
According to UNAIDS estimates, there are now 33.4 million people living with HIV, including 2.1 million children. During 2008 some 2.7 million people became newly infected with the virus and an estimated 2 million people died from AIDS. Around half of all people who become infected with HIV do so before they are 25 and are killed by AIDS before they are 35.
It is important that you know your status and educate yourself. To find out how to prevent the spread of HIV click here. To find out more about World AIDS Day click here.
