I want to wish all of my readers a Happy New Year and briefly “introduce” my blog to you . Cherry Connect was started in June 2009. The concept behind the name is my last name is Cherry and I want to “connect” with all of you on various topics. I hope that I’ve connected with many of you already and look forward to making more connections in the new year! I have so many ideas for this blog in 2010 as well as other projects in development. I can’t speak on it at the moment but please believe me I am working hard behind the scenes to provide you with great content. I want to thank those who have supported from the beginning and those who continue to support me.
As we say goodbye to 2009 and ring in the New Year, I figured it would be fun to list my favorite songs this year that I could not stop playing! Remember, this is my list so please don’t be offended if your song didn’t make the cut. In no particular order my favorite songs of 2009 are as follows:
1. Drake “Best I Ever Had” -- I was just having a conversation with my homie SIMP last night about Drake. Drake exploded on the scene this year! Everyone is talking about him and to think he’s nominated for a Grammy without even dropping an album? That’s amazing! I look forward to hearing some new music in 2010 from Drake.
2. Drake ft Trey Songz “Successful”– Look at comment above.
3. Jay-Z ft Kayne West & Rihanna“Run this Town” -- Wow the Blueprint 3 was one of my favorite albums this year. I honestly could list just about every song on that album as my favorite. Jay-Z rocked the Garden in September and he’s had an amazing year as well.
4. Jay-Z ft Alicia Keys “Empire State of Mind” -- Seriously as mentioned above I love this album and being that I am a native New Yorker makes this song more special.
5. Lady GaGa “Bad Romance”– Lady GaGa wow what an incredible and talented person! After her performances she leaves you wanting more! The video for this song sold me!
Check out the bonus track featured on the Japanese version of Alicia Keys’ album, The Element of Freedom. Too bad it didn’t come with the U.S. version!! Speaking of The Element of Freedom, I’ve been playing it in heavy rotation since I got it for Christmas. My personal favorites so far are “Wait Til You See My Smile,” “That’s How Strong My Love is” and “This Bed.”
