America’s Next Top Model Cycle 13 premieres tonight (8pm est) on the CW Network. The twist for this season’s Top Model is that all the women are 5’7″ or under. In this two-hour premiere, Tyra will narrow down 32 girls to the 14 finalists who will compete for title of America’s Next Top Model. The finalists will then receive their makeovers, compete in their first challenge and sadly one will be voted off. This should be quite an interesting season since their heights are not the standard requirement for high fashion. We’ll have to wait and see what tricks Tyra has up her sleeves. I’m sure this season will be packed with drama, obstacles and of course fashion!

MTV icon Janet Jackson will pay special tribute to her brother Michael at the VMAs on Sunday, September 13, 2009. She will open up the show and help honor Michael Jackson’s career. No word on what she will be performing but there is buzz circulating that she is going to have about 20 backup dancers. I guess we’ll have to wait and see! I’m super excited to see Janet this Sunday and you already know she is Cherry Connect’s favorite artist!

The internet has been buzzing about our favorite artist Janet Jackson and her upcoming interview in Harper’s Bazaar. Supposedly, Janet will break her silence regarding the death of her brother Michael Jackson. She will also grace the cover.
Usually when reports like this circulate the internet I always try to check in with my Janet sources but there is no official word whether or not this is true.
However, I can confirm that Janet is working on her first book with popular novelist David Ritz. The book is reportedly entitled, “The True You” which will provide an intimate look at her life and how she has dealt with self-esteem issues. Janet will reveal aspects not known before about her success in music, television and film.

Yesterday, Jay-Z announced that he will be holding a charity concert at Madison Square Garden in NYC on 9/11/09 – 8 years after the September 11, 2001 terriosts attacks. The name of the concert, “Answer the Call” will be Jay-Z’s way of “helping out and doing something.” Tickets go on sale 9/8/09 and all seats will costs $50! The goal is to raise more than $750,000 for the widows’ and children’s fund.
As you may already know Jay-Z’s Blueprint album dropped on September 11, 2001. The album sold over 426,000 copies in its opening week, becoming Jay-Z’s fourth consecutive album to reach number one on the Billboard 200. Blueprint happens to be one of my favorite albums by Jay-Z and this is coming from someone who mainly listens to R&B. Jay Z’s Blueprint 3 album will be in stores on September 11, 2009.
UPDATE: BP3 release date was moved up to September 8, 2009.
Side Note: It would’ve been nice for Cherry Connect to receive press passes for the event but I will do my best to snatch up tickets next Tuesday! Make sure you go out and support his album and his charity concert!
